"ALL Things to ALL People"

Mar 21st, 2020 by Dr. Bryant Hall, Sr.

For though I am free from all men, I have made myself a servant to all, that I might win the more; and to the Jews I became as a Jew, that I might win Jews; to those who are under the law, as under the law, that I might win those who are under the law; to those who are without law, as without law (not being without law toward God, but under law toward Christ), that I might win those who are without law; to the weak I became as weak, that I might win the weak. I have become all things to all men, that I might by all means save some. Now this I do for the gospel’s sake, that I may be partaker of it with you.

1 Corinthians 9:19-23

Have you ever thought about how others view you?  Yes I know, who cares about what others think of me?  And I believe that to a certain extent, but I also believe that our lives are a living testimony and bridge for others to reach Christ.

Paul said, “I am free from all men.”  He wasn’t controlled by any man, woman, or thing.  The only controller over Paul’s life was Christ.  It is easy to forget our purpose on this Earth, but that is why we should find ourselves face to face with the Word of God.

When Christ controls us, we will do whatever it takes within the will of God to save another soul.  If you find yourself believing the disastrous thought that it is all about you.  Remember Paul’s words, “I have become all things to all men, that I might by all means save some.”  By no means does Paul mean to be a stealer to those who steal, fornicate with those who practice fornication, or hate with those who hate.  Rather, in the original language it explains that Paul is speaking about meeting the needs of all people.  One thing we all need is CHRIST!  Get pass yourself and see how God will bless you for blessing other people.

Let’s be real, you are not going to save the entire world.  Right?  Don’t let this thought trick you into not trying to save the entire world, but understand when you do try you will only “save some.”  So, don’t be discouraged if some people turn their backs on you, leave you, or talk about you.  Keep in mind the reason for being all thing to all people, “Now this I do for the gospel’s sake, that I may be partaker of it with you.”  You will make many friends on this journey and receive many blessing from the Father because of your obedience.  More than anything, you will gain a friend in Christ which goes beyond any dollar amount, any other relationship in your life, etc.  Be all things to all people.

Thanks for your encouragement. I was once overwhelmed with the thought of saving the entire world, but I had to realize that Christ has already done that for me. All I have to do is study His life and try to imitate Him through my lifestyle. Peace and blessings!

This is just the thought I need to keep going in the face of adversity. I will not win everyone, but I need to live my life in a way that is an example of Christ at all times. By living that example I will win one soul over to Christ. May God continue to bless you.
