"You can't CHANGE your Life if you are not TRULY READY for CHANGE"
In the book of St. John 8:31-36, it states, “31 Jesus then said to the Jews who had believed in him, “If you continue in my word, you are truly my disciples, 32 and you will know the truth, and the truth will make you free.” 33 They answered him, “We are descendants of Abraham, and have never been in bondage to any one. How is it that you say, ‘You will be made free’?” 34 Jesus answered them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, every one who commits sin is a slave to sin. 35 The slave does not continue in the house forever; the son continues forever. 36 So if the Son makes you free, you will be free indeed.”
I find so many individuals that communicate the concept that they want to truly change their life. But when you talk with them and watch the character of their walk of life, they really do not display in their lifestyle behavior that they want to CHANGE. CHANGE is difficult to do if we have not internalized it with God’s Word. CHANGE is a mental transformation that God motivate us to perform. In our text in John 8:32, it says, “And ye shall know the truth” [kai gnōsesthe tēn alētheian]. Remember, truth is one of the imprints of Christ (John 1:14) and Jesus will claim to Thomas to be the embodiment of truth (John 14:6). And know that, it will be for our knowledge to learned truth by performing God’s will in attitude and practice (John 7:17). No individual can CHANGE, if they are not familiar with the Word of God in an internalized way. The word truth comes from the Greek, ἀληθης alēthēs, to conceal, unsealed, or to open--“And the truth shall make you free” [kai hē alētheia eleutherōsei humas]. To MENTALLY CHANGE one’s behavior of life is to know truth in Jesus, which in turn allows one to go where he or she wishes and so become free. The freedom of which Jesus here speaks is freedom to EMBRACE CHANGE in one’s every facet of walk. Internalizing psychologically truth can extend freedom to us that can bring about CHANGE only by Christ; when we are sanctified in His truth (John 8:36; John 17:19). CHANGE AND SPIRITUAL FREEDOM is only attainable when we are set free from darkness, sin, ignorance, superstition, and let the Light of the Word shine on us and in us. The truth of Christ is to CHANGE AN INDIVIDUAL PSYCHOLOGICALLY to validate THE CHANGE that is necessary for individuals to experience victorious living.
The power that Christ has extended to us is one that brings about DYNAMIC CHANGE. When most people say, “I WANT MY CIRCUMSTANCES TO CHANGE,” they rarely envision mentally their own standard of life that’s holding them from changing. The truth is, we will likely have a lot more to do with CHANGE HAPPENING to us than we realize. If we want a DYNAMIC CHANGE in our life, we definitely can’t keep doing things the way we’ve always done them and expect to get a different result. The thing that is so interesting is for years many of individuals have tried to make things happen in their life and didn’t get anywhere. The predicament is, we are performing in our own strength and standard, but we need God’s standard to bring about a CHANGE in our lives Romans 10:1-3. So as individuals, we need to realize the truth about our conditions and ourselves before we can get help and see the spiritual BY-PRODUCT OF CHANGE. The Word is like a mirror – it shows us the way we should be and the way we are. Until we looked into the Word, we can’t see REAL CHANGE that we need to make in our lives. WE CAN CHANGE!
